NSW:Council general manager corrupt

The corruption watchdog has made 17 findings against a council general manager who
spent thousands of ratepayers' dollars on surveillance of a man he feared was having an
affair with his wife.

The Independent Commission Against Corruption has also recommended the former head
of Burwood Council .. PASQUALE ROMANO .. be considered for possible criminal charges ..

including giving false or misleading documents to the council with intent to defraud ..

misconduct in public office and an offence of obtaining financial advantage by false or
misleading statements.

Handing down its findings today .. the commission made 31 corruption prevention recommendations
to both Burwood Council and the New South Wales government.
